Description
Being a Nurse Team Leader with Brandon Trust isn’t just about developing your nursing qualifications and experience. You’ll join an established, supportive team who support up to seven people with profound and multiple learning disabilities living in a welcoming home in West Wick, near Weston-super-Mare. The home is in a great location and also near the station and easily accessible from the M5. We’ll support your CPD and Revalidation and also your learning needs and clinical practice through training, our internal clinical network and external networks. We’ll also provide opportunities for you to undertake study for further qualifications such as ILM management. And if you're newly qualified we can offer a preceptorship programme.  

Requirements
About the role The individuals require 24 hour nursing support, and are also supported to access their community. Leading by example, you'll run shifts, managing the support workers and supporting the health needs of the people we support. You’ll work closely with other professionals to develop safe systems of working and achieve the best possible outcomes for the people we support. You’ll also ensure that people receive health care and treatment consistent with their Health Action Plan and Care Plans. You’ll motivate the team and model excellent support and care as well as manage resources and provide day-to-day supervision. About you You’ll have a nursing qualification with current NMC registration (preferably RNLD, RNMH or ENLD) and demonstrable experience of working with people with learning disabilities. You'll also need to have experience of Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities and leadership skills. You should be able to foster a positive team-working environment, inspiring your team and other colleagues to get the best results. Confident and calm under pressure, you'll also be flexible, open to a challenge and innovative in your approach. You’ll need to be flexible around shift and weekend work as the role includes a 24/7 rota. It is desirable that you have a full driving licence, and are able and willing to use your own vehicle on business (for which mileage expenses will be paid). About you You’ll need to be compassionate and able to adapt your approach to individual needs. Good communication skills and a positive, friendly outlook are a must, as is patience. The role will vary depending on whom you're supporting.
