We are currently recruiting care workers in the Bleadon area. You will be working with a gentleman who was involved in a motorcycle collision a number of years ago. He requires support with personal care, taking his medication, moving around and companionship.

He has 24/7 support, shifts are generally:

• 0800-1100
• 0800-1800
• 1700-2100
• 2100-0800 (waking night)

You will already have experience in support or care work, but we do offer ongoing training to help you develop your skills and knowledge - this includes the possibility of studying an NVQ.

Pay rate (PAYE):

• Monday – Sunday Day: £10.00
• Monday – Sunday Night: £12.00

Support Worker roles are available at our home in Axbridge. No experience required.

We are considering full time, part time and occasional hours staff for these positions. 

Shift times 7.15am - 3.15pm and 3.00pm - 10:00pm or long days 7.15am - 10.00pm. Please note that this role will require you to work some weekend and bank holiday hours on a rota basis.

As a Support Worker with Leonard Cheshire you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live the life they choose. You’ll assist with daily tasks including personal care, medication and assistance at mealtimes, motivating and encouraging choice and participation.  

This role will be based at our St Michael's home in Axbridge. St Michael's is home to 36 adults with physical disabilities. We're in the peaceful village of Axbridge in Somerset, commutable from Cheddar and Weston-Super-Mare. No experience needed!

You don't need any specific qualifications or experience to become a Support Worker with us although experience of providing personal care in a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Health Care Assistant is advantageous. At Community Therapeutic Services (CTS) we support a diverse group of individuals who may have Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs and Personality Disorders. Some of the individuals we support have a forensic history or present a current forensic risk and can at times show behaviours of distress.
