Our Education Inclusion learners' service supports schools, early years settings and other providers to ensure positive outcomes for the most vulnerable children and young people with special educational needs; disabilities or social, emotional or behavioural difficulties; and those with sensory difficulties. We also support looked-after children and those on the child protection register, children of travellers, children in ethnic minority communities.
If your child has special educational needs, we're responsible for managing the statutory assessment process and offer advice on: the assessment criteria and process used to identify additional needs; how resources are used to help support children with additional needs; requests for specialist equipment and support for pupils moving into the district. For more information contact our special educational needs team.
