Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service - CAMHS

We are a team of professionals covering North Somerset, based at Drove Road Child Development Centre (CDC) in Weston-super-Mare and The Barn in Clevedon.  The service is provided by Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership (AWP).

The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) includes the Children's Learning Disabilities Team and exists to promote the psychological health of the children and young people living in and around the area.  It provides a range of services including multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment to children, young people and families who experience mental health problems. We work with people from 0-18, and up to 19 in special circumstances eg ADHD, ASD, Complex disability, Special Educational Needs.

To make a referral to this service please us a Single Point of Entry form. We have a system to rate cases on the basis of need in order to prioritise people. We are in regular contact with the Young People on our waiting list and caseload.

AWP 24/7 Response Line:

Our Mental Health 24/7 Response Line is a dedicated telephone line for anyone who may be worried about their own or someone else's mental health. You can access support from our teams around the clock. The telephone line offers out-of-hours care for people and children in crisis 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  If you or your loved one feels unsafe, at risk or unable to cope without professional advice, our dedicated staff will ensure that you are directed to the team best able to meet your needs.  The number to call is 0800 953 1919
