Young Carers Service

North Somerset Young Carers Service works to support young carers between 5 & 18 years and their families by offering a range of support services, advice and information.

A young carer is someone who consistently provided care for another family member.  The responsibilities undertaken by young carers could include practical or emotional support for a parent or sibling. Depending on the nature of the support provided these could have emotional, behavioural, physical and/or social impacts on the young people concerned.
The Young Carers Service offers a range of support including individual support; counselling; advocacy; information; occasional support; newsletters; residentials; trips during holidays; school work; family trips and outings; as well as awareness raising.
