Enhanced Safeguarding Practitioner

Keeping children safe is central to everything we do for our children attending Early Years provision in North Somerset.

The Early Years team are looking for 20 Early Years practitioners to take part in a new training pathway to further strengthen safeguarding practice across North Somerset.

You can apply now to be part of this pilot group in North Somerset by completing an Expression of Interest form

 

What is it ?

This is a new  training pathway that will lead to a North Somerset certificate of ‘Enhanced Safeguarding Status’ for each participant, on the completion of a suite of CPD sessions.

Compulsory/entry level requirement    

1.North Somerset Child Protection Basic Awareness

2 North Somerset Inter- Agency Child Protection: Introduction

 (there will be some funding available for this if application successful)

Course Modules (all at no cost)

1.Threshold materials workshops (compulsory module)

2.A choice of 2 of the following:

A- Referral writing workshop

 

B- Domestic abuse

C. Building confidence in managing difficult conversations

D-Early Help and the role of children’s centres

 

Who is it for?

All Early Years practitioners who wish to strengthen their safeguarding practice. This may be a designated person but is open to all practitioners.
