Voluntary Action North Somerset (VANS)

If you’re looking for a volunteering opportunity in North Somerset, then VANS can help you find a role that could help make a difference to North Somerset communities.

We work with most organisations in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector across North Somerset to promote the roles they need to fill, via our VC Broker website and usually have around 300 opportunities available. So, if you’re looking for a voluntary role in retail, fundraising, gardening, befriending or events and activities organisation, we can match you with roles to suit your skills, interests and time commitments.

If you want to fill a voluntary role in your organisation, then we can advertise it on our website, across our social media channels and in our monthly newsletter, so please get in touch with us.

We believe volunteering should be flexible and volunteers should gain as much from the experience as the organisations do from involving volunteers in their work.

Volunteering has a number of benefits:

  • A chance to learn new skills and boost employability
  • Meet new people outside your usual social circle
  • Helps you to grow in confidence
  • A chance to fill your spare time which fits around your other commitments
  • A chance for you to give back to a cause you’re passionate about

To find out more about how you can volunteer your time and what opportunities are currently available, or if you have some voluntary roles that need filling, drop us an email.
