I am an Ofsted registered childminder and I am qualified with an Early Years Degree with Honours. I have been working with children for the past twelve years, my experience ranges from 0-11 years in a variety of settings, including, running an after school club/holiday club, being room lead in a baby room and working in a Pre-School room, I was the Manager and SENCO of a Nursery setting and most recently a Childminder having set up my own services for local children and families.
I am working towards becoming a Specialist Childminder (SEND). This is a joint project between North Somerset Council and Springboard Opportunity Group that aims to develop childminder’s skills and confidence in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).I have attended North Somerset inclusion training as well as Portage training, introduction to Down’s syndrome and Autism, Makaton training and an introduction to PECS having a commitment to attending further training with an aim to support the needs of children with additional needs. I will have access to the Specialist Childminder coordinator who is available to provide support and guidance around meeting the individual needs of your child. In addition, I will have access to a North Somerset Area SENCO from the Early Years and Childcare service for advice and guidance.
I live with my husband and our two children who are seventeen and thirteen years old. I offer a homely environment where children are safe, welcomed and supported in every area of their development. For every child I aim to encourage curiosity, inspire creativity, ignite imagination and instil a love of learning.
