Stepping Stones Nursery and Pre School

At Stepping Stones Nursery and Pre School we provide high quality care for children aged 2 years to school entry age.  We are situated in our own premises and have our own outdoor area for the children to explore. We care for children in a stimulating and nurturing environment whilst fostering their curiosity. Supported by our key-person system and high adult to child ratios, the team are able to plan for each child's individual interests and development. We support children and families with additional needs and value parent's involvement in their child's early years education.

In November 2021, we took part in our first Ofsted inspection and recieved the grade 'Good'.

'Our vision is for all children to be happy, independent learners'

Description

The development of all children is important to us and we have a policy in place to support children with additional needs and understand that this would include special educational needs, disabilities and those requiring additional help, in order to gain the full benefit of our setting.  We have regard to the Special Education Needs and Disabilities Code of Practice 0-25 years and endeavour to support all of our children through the graduated response by identifying, assessing and responding to the needs of the individual child.   We aim to make reasonable adjustments to our practices in order to ensure the inclusion of all children.  We work in partnership with parents, as well as other agencies, to support both the child's learning within the setting and at home.  When appropriate, we seek additional funding through a variety of sources, including North Somerset Early Years Inclusion Top-up funding and the Disability Access Fund (DAF), and use this money as appropriate to support the child.  This could include specific and specialised resources, staffing and training.  We ensure that as appropriate, the child is always involved in decisions about their provision.
