What are the funding options?

We are pleased to offer funded sessions to children using their Early Years Education entitlement. We have a limited amount of places to offer eligible 2 year olds funded sessions from 2 years 6 months onwards. Families can also choose to pay for sessions to enable their child to attend Nursery before their funding begins.

The statutory entitlement of Early Years Education funding for three and four year olds enables children to access up to 570 hours of funded Early Years Education stretched over 47.5 weeks of the year, this starts the term after a child’s third birthday. Families who are eligible for the extended entitlement can access an additional 570 hours, starting the term after eligibility has been confirmed.

There are many different ways of using your funding at Little Learners. The most popular options are;

Statutory entitlement -  (12 hours per week over 47.5 weeks of the year)

Two mornings or two afternoons

One all day session

One short day session

Extended entitlement (24 hours per week over 47.5 weeks of the year)

Four mornings or afternoons

Two all day sessions

Three short day sessions

There are a variety of options available, the above is just a sample of our most popular attendance patterns. You can choose the combination of days and session patterns that suits you and your Little Learner. All funded sessions are free of charge for 47.5 weeks of the year with the option to either purchase a two course meal from St Anne's Kitchen at £2.25 per meal or to provide a packed meal for your child.

If you would like your Little Learner to start before their funding begins, or you would like sessions in addition to their funding, please see the table of costs below.

At Little Learners, we want all children to achieve their best, become confident individuals and live fulfilling lives. We believe that parents should have a real say in decisions that affect their children, and that the child’s voice must be heard and we are fully committed to having regard to the views, wishes and feelings of children, and their parents. We want to make sure that children, and their parents participate as fully as possible in decisions that affect them. We also aim to provide support to children, and their parents, so that children do well educationally and can prepare properly for transitions into secondary education and adulthood.

The school’s SENCO and Inclusion Leader is:

Mrs Diane Martin

Little Learners Inclusion Coorindator is:

Miss Anna Blasdale

For a child with special educational needs and/or disabilities, the request for childcare at Little Learners will be treated no less favourably than applications for places for other children, because of his/her special educational need - but admission will be agreed within the constraints of the building, the child’s requirements, our abilities, and the number of children with special needs and disabilities currently cared for.
