What are the funding options?
We are pleased to offer funded sessions to children using their Early Years Education entitlement. We have a limited amount of places to offer eligible 2 year olds funded sessions. Families can also choose to pay for sessions to enable their child to attend Nursery before their funding begins.
The statutory entitlement of Early Years Education funding for three and four year olds enables children to access up to 570 hours of funded Early Years Education stretched over 47.5 weeks of the year, this starts the term after a child’s third birthday. Families who are eligible for the extended entitlement can access an additional 570 hours, starting the term after eligibility has been confirmed.
There are many different ways of using your funding at Little Learners. The most popular options are;
Statutory entitlement - (12 hours per week over 47.5 weeks of the year)
Two mornings or two afternoons
One all day session
One short day session
Extended entitlement (24 hours per week over 47.5 weeks of the year)
Four mornings or afternoons
Two all day sessions
Three short day sessions
There are a variety of options available, the above is just a sample of our most popular attendance patterns. You can choose the combination of days and session patterns that suits you and your Little Learner. All funded sessions are free of charge for 47.5 weeks of the year with the option to either purchase a two course meal from St Anne's Kitchen at £2.25 per meal or to provide a packed meal for your child.
If you would like your Little Learner to start before their funding begins, or you would like sessions in addition to their funding, there will be a cost.
Tax-free childcare
What is the scheme?
Tax-Free Childcare is a new scheme which gives eligible families up to £2,000 free per child towards childcare costs.
You may be able to open a new online childcare account via www.childcarechoices.gov.uk which for every £8 you pay into, the government will pay in an extra £2 (up to £2,000), so it effectively gives you basic-rate tax back on what you pay, hence the scheme’s name.
Am I entitled?
To qualify, parents must be working and each earning at least £120 a week. Tax-free childcare can't be used at the same time as childcare vouchers, Universal Credit or tax credits. However, 30 hours free childcare can be received alongside this.
You're usually eligible if your child is under 12 (17 if disabled) and all of the following apply to you (and/or partner):
- are 16 or over
- are over 21 and earn on average at least £120 a week, unless in your first year of self-employment
- earn less than £100,000 a year each
- don't get other support with your childcare, including from a childcare voucher or salary sacrifice scheme
How to apply
You can apply for tax-free childcare at www.childcarechoices.gov.uk. You will need to provide your email address and your child’s date of birth.
