Health Visiting

The Health Visiting service offers advice and support to all client groups, to promote health and prevent illness.  It works to promote the Public Health Agenda.  It provides a comprehensive service to promote health and well being of children and adults.

Child Health Visitors are specially trained nurses who provide advice and support in the community for people whose health may be vulnerable.

If you have a child under the age of five you will usually be assigned a health visitor when your baby is about 10 days old.  If this doesn't happen, contact your GP surgery and they will let the local health visitor know.

Referrals to this agency is from  Health Records, GP and other members of the Primary Health Care Team.  Also from other agencies or individuals, or self referral.
