Hilltop Pre-school

Hilltop Pre-school is a well established preschool which is part of Portishead Pre-schools (Hilltop & Brampton Pre-schools) which has been operating since 1969.

Hilltop operates term time only Monday - Friday 9:00am-3:30pm, offering morning or afternoon sessions. We also offer a lunch club facility for those parents who are looking for all day care for their children. We can accommodate 21 children each session and children can start at the setting aged 2 years, 6 months.

We have the sole use of a large room within St. Barnabas Children's Centre and outside play space, with the addition of a large playground at the rear of the building. Portishead Children’s Centre operates from the same building offering us easy access to Early Years Professionals and support services they offer to families and children.

Each session is staffed by an experienced team, many of whom have worked with preschool children for a number of years. They have extensive knowledge and understanding of the needs of this age group.

In accordance with OFSTED guidelines, each session is operated by qualified, DBS checked staff who all hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification.

On entry, all children are allocated a member of staff as a ‘Keyperson‘. During the child’s time at the setting the Keyperson will document the child’s learning and developmental progress in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

A consumable donation is charged at £8 each term, this covers morning and afternoon snacks, as well as some activities, like baking. This is applicable only for children who pay fees.
