We provide a wide range of community-based support for unpaid carers, including brief intervention, information and advice and signposting when needed. Currently this is via telephone or video calls. We also have a specific Employment Support Coordinator who can provide carers with on-going support for volunteering, training, education or employment.
We have developed a range of ways for carers to stay connected including a Facebook group and a quarterly carers newsletter with lots of information about our support, along with wider information that is useful for carers. Over the next few months we are trialling a range of online support groups.
The Carers Support Service is led by Alliance Homes. They support carers living in North Somerset.
They also provide a Young Carers Service to support young carers under 18. There is also support for Young Adult Carers aged between 18 and 25.
If you are a carer, and you want to find out what help is available for you, please contact Alliance Care on 03000 120 120 (choose option 3).
For information about Carers Support Service visit the Alliance Care website.
All carers are being offered telephone support/signposting when needed, and being made aware that they can call when support is needed. A facebook group is being set up for carers who have been referred and are accessing services. In future when demand is assessed, they may look at the possibility of Zoom groups.
