Rydal Day Nursery was started in 1996 as a private nursery, offering full day care. The setting is registered for 49 children. Rydal Day Nursery is situated in a private house in a residential area of Clevedon. All staff employed with Rydal are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check. All staff are qualified at Level 2 or above (excluding apprentices) with over 20 of our staff being minimum Level 3 qualified. At Rydal Day Nursery, we follow a free-flow approach and promote independence and choice to the children within the setting. Rydal Day Nursery has 3 groups – Tweenies (0-2) Jolly-Tots (2-3) and Pre-School (3-4). Each group has use of two different rooms to allow for space to explore.
Rydal Day Nursery boasts a large, private garden with secure access for parents/staff only. The garden is artificial grass/wet pour, providing an area that is safe and accessible all year round. The garden contains areas for sand and water, obstacles for physical development, a variety of child-accessible toys and activities, and various shelters for all weather play. Rydal Day Nursery has a second garden at the front of the building that provides a calming, natural space for the children to explore.
Rydal Day Nursery incorporates the local community into our curriculum, with frequent visits within the local area. The nursery is within close proximity to the local shops, library, beach and various parks. All of these locations are frequently visited. The setting has strong links with Winash Residential Home, taking part in inter-generational activities weekly. Stimulating activities are provided throughout the day, incorporating both child led and adult led teaching.
