I am training to become a Specialist Childminder as part of a project between North Somerset Council & Springboard Opportunity Group. This project aims to develop Childminders skills & confidence in supporting children who have SEND (Special Educational Needs or Disabilites). As part of this training I have attended courses on Portage, Social Communication Difficulties in Early Years, new INCCO training, Introduction to Attachment & Trauma in Young Children, How to use PECS (Picture Communication Exchange System), Introduction to Downs Syndrome & How to Complete a Healthcare Plan.
Other training includes 'I Can't Hear You', Autism Awareness, An Introduction to Sensory Processing, Integration & Regulation, Promoting Positive Behaviour, Managing Children's Feelings & Behaviour, Food Hygiene & Safety, County Lines, Peer Abuse, Celebrating Cultural Diversity, Numicon Approach with Pre-School Children, Mathematics for Childminders, Early Language Development Programme, Deepening & Extending Children's Learning in Communication, Language & Literacy Development.
Fun loving family home with two daughters (19 & 16) and a cat. I offer a home from home environment providing a safe, nurturing setting to develop children's confidence, skills & independence in readiness for school.
I go out with the children every morning; visits to the library, museums, parks, Puxton Park, Court Farm, Westonbirt Arboretum, toddler groups, soft play, the woods & beach.
Lots of messy play, arts and crafts and toys suitable from birth - 6 years.
