Little Clowns Day Nursery is located within a quiet town and residential area, close to many amenities. The nursery is set in a Victorian house over three levels and also has a purpose built baby unit separate from the house which was built and opened in 2000. The main nursery building was opened in 1990 and accommodates children on the toddler floor age 2-3 years old and on the lower level (main nursery) children age 3-5 years old.
The nursery has close links with local schools, library and children’s centre which are within walking distance from the nursery. The outdoor environment of the nursery is spread over three areas, soft artificial grass in the baby unit garden and within the main nursery outdoor area there is a natural area where children can engage in growing their own pants, veg/fruit and bug house. The main playground is a large area where children can ride trikes, explore their imagination and space and has numerous labels and signs for children to refer to in play to extend their learning and development. The baby unit is situated at the main playground, also accessible from the ground level and has a side access to the garden too. The Nursery operates 51 weeks a year Monday – Friday 7.30-6pm and has the capacity for 48 places in any one day.
11 out of 12 staff are qualified to a minimum Level 3 and attend regular training programmes to enhance their continuous professional development.
