Nicky Harper - Nelly Tots

Nelly Tots is a childminding setting run from my home and garden in the Swiss Valley area of Clevedon.  I understand how overwhelming this feels as I too have sent my older children to childcare and returned to work, so appreciate that you need to find the right setting for both you and your child.

I am a qualified Early Years Practitioner with the equivalent of a Foundation Degree (Open Unviersity, in Early Years) and have over 20 years experience working predominantly with children aged 0-10 years.

It’s through play that children make sense of their world, and in order to do this they also need to form a secure attachment with a care giver.  Rest assured, my home based care can provide the very best experiences and opportunities for your child where learning and play are made on the child’s own terms – deciding on their own play and choosing their own resources.

We will all work in partnership through their time here, sharing photos, outings and things they enjoy along with any “Wow” moments they’ve achieved.

Please call me to organise a no obligation visit.  I may not currently have an immediate vacancy for childcare, but I will try and accommodate you if I can.

Description

I am now a Specialist Childminder (SEND).  This is a joint project between North Somerset Council and Springboard Opportunity Group that aims to develop childminder's skills and confidence in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

I have attended North Somerset inclusion training, and have a commitment to attending further training to support the needs of children with additional needs.  I will have access to the Specialist Childminder coordinator who is available to provide support and guidance around meeting the individual needs of your child.  In addition, I will have access to a North Somerset Arera SENCO from the Early Years and Childcare service for advice and guidance.
