Due to COVID -19 this scheme is temporarily not running.
The Buddy Scheme is designed to provide a service to children and young people with a range of additional needs to support them in accessing social and leisure activities in the community, for example youth clubs, and other clubs such as Beavers, Brownies,
Buddies are often young people who have been recruited from local schools, colleges and universities. They may have worked as a Buddy at our specialist activities, Clubs and play schemes during the school holidays.
All Buddies receive training in Safeguarding as part of their induction and further training through their continuous professional development. A DBS check and references are obtained, and Buddies are selected through a safer recruitment process.
