Tamar Wellness Centre - Alliance Homes Dementia Day Service

In partnership with North Somerset Council, the Tamar Wellness Centre provides a day service to people over the age of 55 who have a diagnosis of dementia.

Our aim is to provide person-centred support to help people living with dementia to remain independent for longer and provide respite to their carers.

Being a carer can be very rewarding but also demanding and stressful. It is important that those who care for others also find time to care for themselves.

Examples of activities provided [note there are some restrictions on certain activities due to Covid 19]:

  • Group discussions and reminiscence activity
  • Singing and dancing
  • Arts and crafts
  • Exercise programmes
  • Board games and musical bingo
  • Quizzes
  • TV time – classic TV, films and documentaries
  • Gardening time
  • Themed activities and events
