I design effective learning programs to address all areas of development in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) from 1-16 years old. I have extensive experience, both in the home setting and in school settings.
I set clear targets and train staff in all technqiues needed to reach these targets. Targets focus on communication, language, comprehension, imitation, play, social skills, social motivation, initiation, emotional literacy, visual skills, motor skills and, for older children, academics when they are falling behind.
The approaches I use are relational frame theory, functional behaviour analysis, positive behaviour support, video modelling, headsprout, verbal behaviour therapy, pivotal response therapy, applied behaviour analysis, play-based incidental teaching. I reguarly work alongside and incorporate advice from speech and language therapists and occupational therapists. I have currently started training to become an early start denver model provider, which is an evidence-based holistic program combining all of the disciplines above.
