Melanie Grieve

I am an EY Practitioner who owns a setting in North Worle, near to the Walford Ave area.

I have lived in Somerset for 19 years, having moved here from Cheshire.

I worked for 15 years in Retail Management before deciding to become a childminder, to help support my own children whilst working from home.  Now they are both grown up I can dedicate time to help other children grow and develop.

Having used EY practitioners before for my own children I know what its like to juggle being a working mum /dad so I have experience from both sides of the coin and know that flexibility is important as well as the standard of care.

Local offer

I am working towards becoming a Specialist EY Practitioner (SEND). This is a joint project between North Somerset Council and Springboard Opportunity Group that aims to develop a practitioners skills and confidence in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I have attended North Somerset inclusion training, and have a commitment to attending further training to support the needs of children with additional needs.  I will have access to the Specialist EY Practitioner coordinator who is available to provide support and guidance around meeting the individual needs of your child. In addition, I will have access to a North Somerset Area SENCO from the Early Years and Childcare service for advice and guidance.
