I am a fully qualified Primary School Teacher who has experience of teaching children in Key Stage one and Foundation stage. After teaching for 8 years, I trained as a Childminder in 2004 and have been childminding ever since.
I have cared for a wide variety of children from birth upwards. In addition, I am a SEND registered Childminder and have been awarded 'Outstanding' in previous Ofsted Inspections.
I have a large, full stocked playroom with en-suite shower-room. The playroom is arranged in 'areas' to encourage learning and development.
These areas include:
Indoor Available Key Learning Areas
- Reading/library corner
- Construction and toy area
- Art and craft/painting and creation area
- Dressing up/role play
- music area
- Writing area
- Jigsaw area
- Role play area
Secure Early Years outdoor decked play area
- Ride-on trikes
- Sand table
- Climbing frames
- Kitchen garden
I have individual high-chairs and car seats for each child, as well as single, double and triple buggies. I have individual cots, bedding, crockery, cutlery, beaker and wash bags for each child, which are colour coded to give them a sense of ownership.
We have a Guinea pig Gwen, who lives in the playroom and offers endless fun and amusement. The children are encouraged to interact and care for her, as much as possible.
We live in a quite lane in the woods, so often spend time on woodland walks or playing at Strawberry Fields. There is a play park at the nearby cricket pitch which is at the end of the road and the beach/seafront is only a short walk away.
